About 35 miles east of San Francisco in Contra Costa County, San Ramon, California, is home to a population of around 45,000. It is the home of headquarters to companies like Chevron Corporation and 24-Hour Fitness, and the town's Bishop Ranch Business Park is home to offices for about 200 companies, including AT&T, Chevron, Toyota and United Parcel Service. Eleven elementary schools, four middle schools and two high schools make up the public school system here. Attractions in San Ramon include such features as Crow Canyon Gardens, the Forest Home Farms Historical Site, Iron Horse Regional trail, Old Ranch Park and San Ramon Central Park.

Arts and cultural offerings range from the San Ramon Symphonic Band and the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center to the Youth Symphony and Community Chorus. Annual events in town include an Art & Wind Festival, Black & White Party and during the summer, concerts in the park. Seasonally, there is also a farmers market where produce and other goods can be purchased locally. Golfing options include Canyon Lakes Golf Course and San Ramon National Golf Club. Health services are provided by the San Ramon Regional Medical Center, and professional, scientific, and technical services are the largest industries in which residents are employed. Shopping options can be found at the Alcosta Mall Shopping Center.
